Signs Of Pregnancy

The early signs of pregnancy usually lead a woman to suspect whether she is pregnant. After a missed period, women may experience signs of pregnancy like breast changes, nausea, vomiting, fatigue and frequent urination. The first trimester of pregnancy is usually very challenging for most women because it is when the body is adjusting to the needs of pregnancy. Although there are many discomforts, these signs of pregnancy will subside after the first trimester.

The second trimester of pregnancy is a time when a woman can first feel her baby. This sign of pregnancy is called quickening or the first fetal movement. A pregnant woman’s growing uterus is proof enough that there is a life growing inside of her. Thus, this is an exciting time for a woman because she can then view the child as a separate entity. Women at this stage also need to accept the changes in appearance, as brought about by the pregnancy.

As the pregnancy progresses to the third trimester, signs of pregnancy like stretch marks, melasma and linea nigra may occur. These are not actually welcome signs of pregnancy for some women because they are afraid that it will last even after pregnancy. However, women should not worry too much because these signs will eventually fade. They should rather spend this time nest building or preparing stuff for the baby. Couples may also attend childbirth classes in preparation for labor and delivery.

From the earliest signs of pregnancy to the unpleasant skin changes towards the last trimester, these are but normal changes of pregnancy. And although these may occur, they remain to be part of the marvelous process of pregnancy.
